Hi everyone,
I just changed over to a dc2r caliper, BMC and booster and redrilled slotted rotors.
everything went ok to a degree, but when i drive around brake pedal feel for the first approx 10cm of the stroke in pretty much non existent and for the last 5cm pedal pressure is fine.
When the car is off there is full pedal pressure.
Anyway, hovering my head around the booster and MC i could hear a air leak.
i've found that its the connection between the Booster and MC on the underside. when i run my finger across it you hear it interupting the airflow.

is this just a matter of taking off the MC and putting it back on? cause i didn't line it up properly
or there something that is supposed to make a seal and it has worn out?

Also, did anyone have any issues with the dust covers grinding against the new rotors?
Pics of the EK4 booster and MC to show for example, the DC2R one is exactly the same
19258
19259
19260

This the first pic is where the leak is currently happening.
Second and third pic shows the Booster and MC apart, theres no gasket so seal the two together. the EK4 or DC2R one didn't have one like mentioned in ECU-MAN's write up in step 4.

Im assuming you bled the brakes properly?

yup, did it till there was only solid fluid in the bleed kit.
but i found an air leak where the MC bolts to the booster. I'm just wondering if there is a seal there may be worn out, or if i didn't bolt it back on properly :S

when you say 10cm of stroke is non existent, does it feel like there is no resistance at all?
might have to adjust your brake pedal.

there is a seal for the booster, you also need to lube up the MC shaft so it makes a good seal.

when you say 10cm of stroke is non existent, does it feel like there is no resistance at all?
might have to adjust your brake pedal.

there is a very slight resistance, it will increase very slightly all the way to the 5cm mark, then it goes normal.
at higher rpms the resistance is greater for the first 10cm but still no where near normal

as for the seal for the booster, does it sit inside the MC or on the booster itself? both the ITR one and my stock only had what appeared to be a "grommet" in on the MC not on the booster

it should sit inside the booster

if I disconnect the mc from the booster without disconnecting the brake lines do I need to bleed the system again?

anyone got the part number for the Itr rod seal? i went to honda and they gave me the one on the right in this link
http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2691991
from my understanding this is because the design of the itr mc changed.
i also got the civic vti-r one as well which looks like the one on the left but its for a vti-r. so i don't know if it'll fit until i pull the itr one off the car this weekend.

Thanks!
