Hi, been searching crazily recently for a header to install on my audm dc2r. Been trying to find information on whether my cat or exhaust will need to be changed in order to fit this american style header:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-Acura-Integra-GSR-ITR-RMF-Narrow-Race-Header-4-1-/290420030658?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item439e61fcc2&clk_rvr_id=247450752542

It says itll fit a B18c5 but not sure if itll fit a b18c7 and if itll be a straight bolt on or not??

If anyone has delt with these headers before their knowledge will be appreciated.

Just realised this should have been posted in the model specific section. Apologies

Hey buddy,

yeah its ina rather odd place to put this.

anywho. you're question.. most aftermarket header will have a different diameter tubing to the stock header.
What your exhaust like? Stock? stock headers?

when you install it, the exhaust shop will just have to use a flange to match the different size of piping. Also they usually charge you for it, so if you can.. try get one, but they only charge about $50.

Stock exhaust. I was under the impression i had to purchase an aftermarket cat because they wont match up?

Thanks for the reply.

Will running aftermarket headers be worth it with the stock/factory exhaust?..

yeah i rekon it will.

You'll feel the difference between stock header and aftermarket header..

but the stock exhaust will be restricting you set-up.

If you wna get the full potential out of the header, you'd want something along the lines of a 200 cell high flow cat.

I also suggest some form of intake as well (that is if you dont have one). IMHO what good is a better exhaust manifold if you wont have a better intake to begin with? It's like saying "I want a bigger water bottle, when I dont even drink much water" .. its good to have one, but you'll find it hella fun if you matched it with an intake.

I ran my EM1 with 4-2-1 5zigen headers & N1 Spoon high flow cat.. and it was fun, but until i put in my intake, the car's so much more fun to drive. =)

Yeah you'll love the difference.

Theres people I know that went from J's racing, 5Zigen, DC, and Mugen 4-1 headers to Kiddracing RMF 4-1. They all love it and they say gains are better top end.

Great header, sound on vtec changes and you will feel the pull. I got one too

P.s, It's better to also buy a slim line fan for the radiator, because to fit the rmf header there are some shavings that need to be done on the OEM fan. I bought a slim line fan (davies), works better than OEM + gives you that clearance you need.

Yep got an Injen CAI, couldnt believe the difference it made really great modification.

As for the headers, i think you guys have convinced me! Iv come accross some 2nd hand Mugen 4-1 headers to so its just a matter of deciding which ones to go with.

Thanks guys for ur replies, really appreciate it.

Which brand slim fan do you recommend? And is it easy to to remove the OEM fan, by just removing the bumper?

Furno, dont replace the radiator fan. The OEM fan is much more efficient than those slimline ones. You will just need to take some notches off the fan blade (literally 5mm off each blade and tiny bit of the plastic bracket. Get a little hand-saw or a grinder.

You dont need to remove the bumper to take the fan off... theres 2 bolts holding it up top and then you just pull it up.

Cheers pav....

Yea, they did the same when the RMF went in the EG, but with the DC2R, im a little bit iffy of them chopping anything OEM :P Might just grab a set of TODA's lol

Meh... the fan is exactly the same as any other dc2... if ur weary just look up some oem 2nd hand fans, chop it and chuck em in for the time being. Im sure the fans wont cost you more than $100... the TODA's on the other hand... :S lol too dear

I have this header in my Teg and the exhaust place just shaved a bit off my fan.

Performance wise, it's pretty awesome. Top end is a world of difference...
