Both of those rims wont fit. You'll need to roll your guards.

I have 16x7 +35 on my eg and it sits flush with the guard. It use to scrub before i had my coilovers fitted. Even with these rims i wouldn't mind rolling my guards a bit.

on eg 7" wide + 38 is normally pretty safe .. and wider and you'll need to roll your guards or run 195 width tyres and have them stretched on the rim.
