Well short story for you all ...
Took the 5 day old Luxury to Golburn for the day to clock up some KM's for the 1st service. I thought it was a good idea until on the way home there was lots of rain and 2 hail storms. Needless to say the car has got some unwanted options in the form of dents.
Its my parents car but i thought i'd post this up anyways, people always like to see misfortune. The hail was small to medium size with some larger and some smaller dents. Needless to say the dent man is going to have his work cut out for him on this one.
(P.S how many posts before i become a "member"?)

Seems like your car has the same faith as mine, mine was 4 or 5 days in my possession before it was hit by the Melbourne hail (last year). Thank God for insurance! I do hope your parent has insured the car.

Absolutely it was insured, but cover note only at the time !! lucky insurance company is all sweet about it, should be getting quotes for repair soon, i hope.
cheers.

my repair was quoted around $5k, but that's hail damage all over the panels (except doors).

Crikey! well hopefully it will be a dent man only job, though a body shop as if the car has to have any panels re-sprayed, it will be sold and replaced. My dad's fussy as all hell and would never feel like it was a "new" car again. If they have to strip interior panels to push the dents out, nothing ever goes back like it did from the factory and that's when rattles start... we'll see what happens, fingers crossed there is no painting required.

i thought insurance companies dun cover natural disasters, n have to be selected as an option that requries you to pay a premium rate.

Hail Damage is covered by a lot of policies now days. Lucky ours was. Natural Disaster might be something like the car being destroyed while parked at a pretrol station due to lightning striking the gas vents causing an underground explosion or something strange.. not too sure.

Bonnet, Roof, Boot, Rear 1/4 panels, and a couple of very minor dents on the front 1/4 panels. we tried our best to park under cover, but everyone else had the same idea too so that made it hard.

My insurance policy through Honda Australia (Swann Insurance) covers hail damage. The only ones that are not covered are contamination by terrorism, wear and tear and acts of war and nuclear attacks, damage while vehicle is at the showroom to be sold and if the vehicle has been legally siezed.

Hail - I am glad I will NEVER EVER have that problem.
So sad to hear about the pride and joy.

Yeah, ever since the Sydney hail of winter 2000, I am never going to park my car in a place without a concrete roof over it to shield it from the sky.
