I just went to Honda to buy some sump plug washers for an upcoming oil change.
Are they supposed to be metal??
Usually cars have rubber o rings.
What's the point of a metal washer? Why not just do the sump plug up to the sump
Sorry if that's a noob question.

actually they are an aluminium crush washer and when you tighten the sump bolt the washer crushes and forms a seal.
most cars use this type of washer.

All cars are different. Some have a metal crush washer. Some use nylon. Some use rubber.

i use hyundai sump plug washers on my car as they are the same size lol.
i know nissans use copper.
just get them from Honda they cost liek 50cents if they dont gie you one free with your oil filter :P
and yes ALLOY si soft so it squashes and seals nicely - u need to replace this each time u undo your sump though (in a perfect world)..
