cheers guys, 3m sounds like the only brand ppl use, is there a specific type of 3m double sided tape? ive tried 3m stuff before, but was only really meant for indoor, not automotive stuff, not as strong as id hope lol

The tape's adhesion also really depends on the surface prep. Make sure you do a wipe down of the surfaces with a suitable solvent.

If you want to apply the lip, 3M does an automotive trim tape. If you can't find that, you can always go to Bunnings and get the 3M Exterior Mounting tape. Similar stuff but the exterior mounting tape is 1" wide whereas the automotive trim tape is 1 cm wide.

make sure u use a heat gun to bring the temps to a proper level so the tape works at its best.

Make sure u get the 3m tape in the red box. Clean the surface real good and don't be stingy using the tape.

3M red tape is probably the best stuff u can get

use some Isocol to clean the surface (rubbing alcohol) - u can get it from most chemists

Tough to find unless you work in the industry.

Instead, you can use this:

I tried and failed with tape bro, so just used two screws lol.

Have also used sikaflex before, but wouldn't recommend this unless you know you're never taking it off. Need to remove with paint thinner.

paint thinner doesnt work. i spend 30% of my days at work removing others sikaflex. If its been applied for ages then it aint coming off.
we got new double sided tape at work. It looks like 3M but its alot stronger. forgot the brand. I'll find it
