howdy..
I did a search on the forums and saw a few old 'teg owners.
my car keeps bottoming out on speed humps and has more body roll than a fat bitch on a roller coaster. anyone got any creative ideas on how to replace the shox, springs ( ie cheap / relaible... not the standard go to Midas)
i was thinking about getting parts off new gen integras but i am nto sure if they are compatible.
[when will foam spoilers go out of fashion.]

I am yet to find a place which deals with torsion bars, which is what the front is supported by. I ended up going to Pedders and they installed struts and lowering springs at the back for about $600 all up.
The back looks like it's pretty simple to replace the springs and shocks without a spring compressor, not too sure about the front. You can adjust the front ride height by turning a bolt on the torsion bar though.
Edit: (Foam spoilers rock :D)

I'd suggest trying some Koni shocks all round - these you might be able to find at a wreckers second hand or try some place like Toperformance in Melbourne - might be worth a go...

On the body roll - get a rear sway bar from Kmac out of Sydney - these are around $150 and are worth it to remove that old boat like feeling.

Kmac stuff are crap, sorry to say but i've never like them in the first place and never will, if you want good sways bar go the cusco! they are abit dearer but it's worth the extra $$$

i have got rid of most of my body role, using monroes new heavy duty flexi shocks and king springs in the rear, however i have a problem with the torsion bars causing my car to sit uneven and being very stiff, i think that they just need to be re tensioned, if anyone has any info, plz let me know.

Ive got a D16A3 but in a CRX 84 haha..
as for suspension... thats interesting. In CRXs to stiffen the chassis and sussy - we use Teg torsion bars, while tegs - well - not sure what you can use.
I recon lower it on torsion bars as low as you can, replace the front shocks with Konis and see how you go. Replace all the old bushes under the car too... could have an effect.
BTW: foam Spoilers ROCK!

i remember that problem in my old 86er
every bump it bottomed out with a big BANG
got new struts up front (gabriel?) and it helped a bit, and the lower u adjust the torsion bars the more likely it will bottom out.

on my GENONE with the bottoming out I went through two windshields in a year, it was cracking the window each time. Was too low for the Shocks to handle the decreased suspension travel.

To get rid of alot of the body roll you can weld up the stock rear sway bar. I have done it to my civic (same suspension) and it is a world of difference.
Have a look at www.redpepperracing.com it is a 3rd gen civic and 1st gen CRX site but the suspension in them cars is exactly the same as in tegs.

hey guys, just letting u know that i got rid of my bottoming out of my da3 integra, i went a saw rob at suspension center in melbourne (kialba) near sunshine, and he used some sorta cusion plates in my front shockers wich got rid of my bottoming out, and he also retensioned me torsion bars and droped it on its arse.
i have pics if anyone is interested, i have 17's on the car too.
