All,

As many FD2 owners know, the brakes are crap, and very noisy.

I myself have machined the rotors, new pads, and the noise keep coming back. Even Honda is puzzled with this with reasons; non-asbestos pads are noisy, warp rotors, glazing, etc...(never end), I basically given up trying to fix it

However, I might have found a solution to our problems. Give me thoughts

I used to wash my wheels with my car shampoo - Wash and Wax mix. Upon changing to normal car wash shampoo - Armour All Wash (light blue), my brakes stop making noise.

What are you thoughts? Have you used just car wash shampoo without the wax compound in it and there are noises when braking?

I had this problem and so I changed the pads and discs to aftermarket alternatives and haven't had a screech or squeak since!

I never used to wash my wheels thoroughly, and when the car WAS washed it was with a normal shampoo with no wax.

I've never had a problem with my brakes? They're super quiet and very responsive.

some civics seem to have responsive brakes where others dont lol its really fukd up... my friends got fd's and the sensitivity is much diff to mine.. i had the squeak however i changed my discs to aftermarket ones and still using oem pads ive had no problems with squeaking and the car pulls up very nicely =]

I no longer have squeaking brakes after changing the shampoo, not going to bother with replacement rotor and pads until the life of the parts come to an end :D

Hi. I have an FD2 aswell and my brakes squeals like crazy even when the brakes are still cold!
The cars is quite new so i dont think the brakes are warned out or anything. I asked Honda what it was
and they said that the newer hondas use steel in their brakes and thats why it squealing which i think is a load
of crap.

Anyone got any solutions or recommendations?
Thinking of going after market pads and disk but not sure if it will be cheap as i am i student.

Thanks.
