Me and a mate are looking to put a vtec motor in a stock eg Civic sedan, but we're not capable of doing it ourselves, so we'll need mechanics, but before that we need to know price figures.

I'm guessing the best bet would be to go with a b16a2, although I'm not sure how hard they would be to find. Also I'm not too sure if a B18 would be a good fit. Either motor would do fine since there won't be much difference in output. So in the end, it all depends on the price and rarity.

And my last question, along with the motor and gearbox, what other mods would we have to make? And what prices are we looking at here?

Thanks for the help..!

If you think so...

theres a massive difference in torque between the 2 engines and the b18c has much higher potential output per $ spent than the B16

i would aim for an OBDI engine from a car that is in the same year bracket as the EG - 92-95

look for a B18c2 from a 94-96 Integra VTIR - very good swap for the $$ spent

which model sedan is it? if its a GLI (D15b7) you could put in a D16a6 cam + D16y1/D16z6 intake manifold with some ebay headers that will be a fun little engine and rev its head off all day
the parts cost less than $200
