Name this valve cover.....??

picked up a D16y1 with a stuffed bottom end for a rebuild the other week (see my build thread for deets)

it came with this valve cover - but i cant suss out which engine it came stock on??

any ideas?

looks like a d16y1/d16z cover with the honda shaved off

Trism's guess is closer I think. Not 100% but looks similar to F22B1 like I have in my Accord. Here's a crap pic I found online:

nah, def not this. just check out the position of the oil cap.

Nope. y8 has honda written on it, not vtec

yeah i had a sneaking suspicion that it was a D16y1 / D16z6 valve cover with the H and the Honda shaved off

but theres absolutely no sign of it being removed

that just means they did a good job at it.

Its not hard to do. Its pretty soft metal really, a grinder and a grinding disc to take it nearly all the way down, then a sanding disc to bring it all to the same level

i just didnt expect something that well done considering the condition of the rest of the engine

the paint was very poorly done on the cover as well lol

Maybe they got lazy haha. I shaved my entire cover with a hand-held file, then used an orbital sander.

Your cover looks pretty much like my Y1, minus the mentioned features.
