So i was thinking along these lines as there all between 350-390 shipped.

SKUNK2 sport shocks, KYB GR-2 shocks, Monroe sensatrack shocks or Tokico HP shocks all around the same price, any opinions? Im on a budget atm so going to be on stock springs. I want to have the best performance though but also a reliable shock that does a good job. Do i need to replace the strut holder (i think its called) at the top of the shock or can i use the old one?

What do you guys think or know of any others around the same price.

Konis are around $700 shipped as much as i love them cant afford them ATM, maybe later ill get some konis with ground control coilovers.

id get either the tokico or the kybs. Both good shocks, and both can be used with a ground control coilover kit later.

And no, you wont need to replace the top.

ah ok, thats really good to know. So basically from what ive gathered online monroes arn't the best and are really just a factory replacment not much can be done with them. Then can skunk2 only have skunk2 coilovers attached? Where as if i go KYBor tokico then i can have the ground control coilovers. I notice theres a ground control coilovers and a ground control (koni) coilovers, im guessing i need the koni coilovers for koni shocks and there not compatible with all the other shocks?

yeah, the koni coilovers have a specific kit for them.

If i were buying skunk2s id rather buy coilovers, not just shocks. Just personal preference.

yer i would like to buy both, but i should be spending my money getting it roadworthy not on bells and whistles atm. Although it is tempting. Sucks having limited funds, need to win the lotto, but then again dont we all.

Ok as far as i know based on some quick research i could buy the Tokico HP shocks (blue) which seem to be a performance shock, then later get the ground control coilovers, then later again once the Tokico's wear out replace them with koni yellows and buy adapter plates from GC to adapt the coilovers to koni compatable.

I think atleast

Ended up getting the Tokico blues, they seems to be on the more performance side of OEM replacment shocks and pretty good price. And it will give me the option to go ground control coilys later if i want.
