Hey guys. I was wondering if this is the safest way to manually reset your ecu http://www.team-integra.net/forum/blogs/surferx/36-reset-ecu.html. Can you guys confirm if this way is valid or is there any other easier way. Thanks

Yeah thats spot on. Quickest way to do it aswell,

Another way is to take the negative terminal out from the batterry for an hour then re connect it and let the car idle for 10 mins

Pulling the fuse is fkn annoying, hard to grip it. Easiest/fastest way imo is taking out one of the battery terminals for a few minutes, reconnect and let car idle for 5-10 min.

Use a needle-nose plier. Easy.

disconnect the negative terminal, then put your foot on the brake pedal for a few minutes.

You can turn the headlights on, etc etc, turn the ignition on, all that shit, anything to get any residual current out of the wires. Leave it disconnected for 15mins, then turn the car on, let it idle for 10 mins, but also take it for a drive, run it through all scenarios, run it out to rev limit in all gears, put around at 50km/h in 5th, and then plant your foot, putting a high load on the engine.

All these different parameters and the ecu will figure it out.

ECU reset only takes 15 seconds,

no need to have things unplugged, disconnected for hours ect

OBDII cars need to idle till the thermofans kick in twice with no electical load
