Hey all,

Wondering if anyone has any direct experience in dealing with Honda with regards to warranty repairs.

The airconditioner compressor has failed bigtime and whilst the car is no longer under warranty (by a year i think) the problems with the aircon has been around and brought to their attention for the last few years.. each time they check for leaks, or re-gas the system. but its never been cold since the first time.

Now the compressor's decided to pack it in big time and the charge is something like $3000 to fix!!

im willing to take this as far as i need to (cars not mine but family owned) but any advice or previous experiences from anyone would be appreciated. Im awaiting a call from the Service Manager now.....

Thanks all!

iv heard of these type of stories ending up in court ( used car warranty type of thing )

The place your got yor car from will simply say, the compressor was fine while it was under warranty.

get some more pricing as a compressor should only cost 800 to 900 to change, then labour. good luck

unfortunately when the compressor goes... and its one of the main components of the aircon system it contaminates the entire system so some of the other parts may need replacing and also flushing... hence the cost... so says the dealer.

when the warranty ran out, forget about any warranty works, and be prepared to pay top prices from Honda. unless it is a recall thingy.

if i were you, i'd go to your local auto electrican/air con place and get them to check it out. going back to Honda for out of warranty work is a waste of money. :o
