B16A 1018XXX
Has PR3 stamped on cam wheels, cast on head and block.
Intake manifold/horn has P30/HF3 cast on it.
Head has "R"stamped in the back.
ECU that comes with engine is P2T but is in a package and looks like it has been posted so not sure it is the correct one.
Bracket at top/head pass side front of engine has P30 cast into it.
Any tips on IDing this or anyone know what it is? Sort of thinking it is a B16A original (PR3) with other bits added and wrong ECU?
Thanks in advance.

I'd say you're pretty right with your guess. Hope it came with a harness and plugs!

Top one is a OBD2b ECU with three plugs.
What are you putting it into?

Harness matches ECU...and includes an ABS motor fuse box (WTF?)...mine is second from top...2 large blocks..left and middle...and one small block on the right...no idea what it is..

That is an OBDIIa not a "IIb".

It all came with a PR3 1st Gen B16A Peter..all a bit of a mismatch by the look of it..dont think they actually were working together..it just all came as a unit..bit lost here..I will post pics of it.

I am guessing he swapped his motor..(this one I have as he was told it dropped a valve..it has water in No.3 so I think it is a head gasket)...with his new motor then he just threw the harness and ECU that was with his new engine in with this deal...only thing I can think of..

I was spot on..this ECU goes with this harness which came with his new motor...he just plugged in the old harness and computer in the new motor..if that makes sense....

So now I am trying to work out what ECU and harness this needs...according to forums, the tappet cover is B16A 2nd Gen (small DOHC Large VTEC on cover)...the intake has P30 HF3 on it so am I right in assuming it needs a P30 ECU which would make it OBD1?
Any help appreciated.

Valve covers can easily be changed.. Some of these questions below may help you identify which car your B16A came out of. Also note 2nd gen B16A refers to both OBD1 and OBD2a/b B16A's, which have minor differences.
Where is your IAT Sensor located (Intake Air Temperature)?
Does your Intake Manifold have PGM-FI written on it?
Does your Throttle Body have a FITV on the bottom (Fast Idle Thermo Valve)?
Does your distributor have 1 or 2 plugs?

Can you get a pic of the Intake Manifold looking from the front? So I can see the top of runner 1
And theres numbers on the front of the head just above the exhaust, take a pic of that

No FITV under Throttle Body and no IAT sensor on Intake Manifold = OBD2 car

Yes, the ECU you have (P2T from EK4) matches that Intake Manifold.
When you get the head back you can check a couple of other things like if the VTEC Solenoid has a Pressure Switch on it...

No VTEC pressure switch on your solenoid. Every thing you have is consistent with an OBD2 car, i.e. Civic EK4
What's the engine number on your block, this can help identify between JDM and ADM EK4
VTP switch found on OBD1 cars:

Jap model...
Australian delivered EK4's have the suffix B16A2
Last thing I would check are the numbers on the head.. but every thing so far points to OBD2a B16A from a JDM Honda Civic SiR (EK4)

Off memory there were 3 circles with numbers in them.

Yep should be 4 circles with numbers in them. Those numbers will help identify the manufacturers date.
