If they don't tell you what it is, how do they expect you to fix it? Sounds pretty frustrating alright!!!

I would go to mechanic or engineer and get some form of roadworthy inspection, should at least give you some idea of what the problem is and/or provide proof (with the report) to the cops that you at least made some form of effort! A roadworthy here in QLD is about $55 from memory so see what you can do.

Id go to the cop shop, and get the issue clarified with the officer who gave you the defect.

what the **** then? thats ****ing bullshit. What sort of inspection do you need?

They should be able to track the officer who gave you the defect. Go to the cop shop, ask them to find out who gave it to you, and tell them you want to talk to him because youve got a legit question about the defect.

Well definitely, Trism's suggestion should get some form of legitimate response. You could just say something along the lines of "If my car is not in roadworthy condition then I want to know about it so I can get it fixed".

What modifications do you have? Perhaps we can figure it out going backwards?

do you have air con/power steering? Or did you take it out? Playing the ignorant card will not solve any problems mate , go to a workshop/rta inspection or station show them the notice they will explain it to you, get it resolved if blue slip is required $52.50 part required will need to visible and functioning. It is a defect to remove ancillary parts and drive as car is deemed unroadworthy.

Ancillary parts means belt driven parts from the motor right? Are you guys saying removing air con or p/s is a defect?

I'm in victoria

It was my aircon belt, being missing. Got it cleared today, spoke with DSCC something like that, blueslip mechanic called em(The big boys for defects), Ancillary parts apparently cover a wide range of things just to **** you over even more, includes electronics aka sound system wiring, aircon, belts, pulleys, pumps etc etc even window motors from what he told me. Nearly all your responses were correct. Its now costing me ~2grand to get rego on my car, thinking about selling as rolling shell. Putting the car back to stock going to cost me an arm and a leg.

Btw guys, if any prob finding out what the exact details on the defect were, its best to speak with the DSCC i will post up the number and shit on monday when i go to pick up my car.

Finally F#CK THE POPO, are you srs, i dont need no aircon in winter.

you either have to be doing something really wrong or be incredibly unlucky to get done tho

if you fly under the radar and drive sensibly on the streets - chances are you will go unnoticed

the police use laws like this to ping people for things they cannot prove - ie speeding/hooning from a distance or being RBT with a loud exhaust

i got a yellow sticker for having 'vtec' once ... ignorant bastards

They make it sound like OEM wiring is so beautifully done and organised...

. I rather these kunts out on the street getting rapiest and murders

Now thats where youre wrong. These guys are HIGHWAY PATROL. Their job is to get speeders, and unroadworthy cars, and drink drivers off the road.

For murderers and rapists, they have all the other police to do those jobs.

u must be doing something wrong to attract that much attention?

remember racing and super loud cars are for the track - not the street

I was doing 60km in 60km zone, i was approx 260 meters away from my doorsteps. I was on 4th gear approx 2k rpm. Wen i saw the sirens. Only thing i really was doing wrong, driving a manual car with my Auto's. Its just my luck.

Loud cars, canons exhaust, name a suburb you dont hear em at, its a part of our life. Sure for insurance purposes I shouldn't drive a manual car. Coincidentally at the time I got pulled over, a house up my street got robbed and burnt down, yet the cops decided they needed to finish checking my car for faults instead of helping hard earning people trying to live a honest life. We might not hear it on the news, radio papers etc etc. But Australia is a really bad country, yet the govt decides they need more law enforcement on making them money 'cash cows' if you ever heard of them term. Have you realised in the last 10 years all laws past has increased govt revenue by 56% from fines and yet the streets aren't any safer then what they were 10 years ago. Things are kept away from public's eyes. We are targeted as revenue for the govt cos we express our personalities with our cars.
Just keep in mind next time you vote for bob carr

i actually agree with you there - i have had my fair share of injustice at the hands of the traffic policeman - i also have no faith in the court system either
