I think they are stock tyres? I know rollas have a standard set of yokohamas so euros might since theyre jap cars

Apparently base CU2 models have all kinds of stock tyres.

those yokohama dB's are stock tyres - my base model CU2 comes with exactly that combination of wheels and tyres.

still got tread but very very close to the 'get ready to buy tyres' indicator
that said, it still got loads of grip thru corners but will chirp from 1 to 2 at 5000 rev

I have the 10 spoke CU2 wheels on mine (factory option - same as this photo http://www.zcars.com.au/images/honda-accord-euro-modulo1.jpg)

Still undecided if I like them or not... The wheels themselves are nice, but I don't know if they suit the CL9 shape. Might get rid of them and go back to stockies once the tyres wear out.

I've got a set of stock CU2 standard rims (5), 17inch Yoko's 2000kms on them. I changed them out to put on 18's with Michelin Primacy's (5). They've been sitting a a dark garage doing nuthin. Had a chat to a few tyre sellers and they're good to go. Look brand new too.

How much did you get the primacy's for?

Were you the one that was blown away with their price before in a previous thread?...

I wanted 18's and didn't want 19's as they're too bumpy. Anything bigger than 18 inch on the CU2 is ridiculous IMO. Looks good but loose all feeling of luxury and feel like you're in a go kart.

I changed over for $400 a corner for rubber and $250 a corner for rim. Got 5 of them so that they match.

They weigh the same same as stock CU2 Lux wheels - 23kgs.

Didn't like stock standard CU2 rims as they look like Mazda 6 and Aurion. Too much like the rest of the pack. I went for Adventi Vienna.

Handles great, the michy's are a quiet and have good grip. Yoko's are quiet with good grip too. I've some say they think that michy's are loud. They have obviously never actually owner a car with them on.

$400 for the full set (brand new). They're not aftermarket wheels, they're genuine original Honda CU2 wheels - just a factory option which most people don't select.

$400 is cheap! I know they're genuine but they still look a bit aftermarkety. I've never seen a full Modulo car with the kit rims on.

I like the optional TSX rims (except the fact that they're chrome) and the option UK Accord rims though.

HunterZero

+1 I have the 17" 9 spokes on my Lux. I always loved the look of those wheels. Plus once you go to 18" or above, the tires start to get expensive. 17"-18" look 'right' for the stock ride height of the car.

If you lower the car on the standard 17", the car starts to look strange. And anything over 18" and you need to lower the car, or the car doesn't look right either.

Lowering a car with anything other than a modest drop around public roads is a pain, you'll constantly be worried about scraping, and the cops will start pulling you over if they think it's too low.

I think that once you go over 18" wheel size the super low profile tires can actually make the handling worse, they are pretty much for bling only. BTCC cars and V8 Supercars use 17" rims. You don't see track cars getting around on stretched tires or huge wheels with super low profile tires.

Wow nice. I think it looks awesome too, but you can see what I mean about anything larger than 18" and it will definitely need to be lowered.

17" is the 'sweet spot' wheel size for the CL9 at stock ride height. 18" you can get away with though - just. 16" are the stock size on the standard version and old CL9 lux, and they do look a bit small.

i can stick a loaf of bread between the fender and tyres gap.......

stock CU2 luxury is 18x8 offset +55.. and is around 29kg with the Michelin Primacy HP 235 45 18 tyre (made in France and has rather soft sidewall, and no lip protection flange at all!)

stock CL9 luxury is 17x7 offset +55.. and is around 23kg with the Potenza RE040 225 45 17 tyre (made in Japan and has stiffer sidewall, and has a bit of lip protection flange) (i weighted it when i had it)

On the plus side, the stock FN2R rims are said to weigh between 11.2 - 12.4kg depending on who you ask.

A 225/40R18 RE040 weighs 23lb according to tirerack.com, or 10.4kg.

This means that using the same tyres, running FN2R rims on 225/40R18 rubber would give you a wheel weight of approx 21.6 - 22.8kg depending on the accuracy of the measurements. Whilst it may not be a lot lighter than stock, this setup shouldn't be any worse either!

All a pipe dream for me though. With the goat tracks... I mean roads we have in Sydney, I'm better off sticking to the stock 17's

My benchmark is the 16inch stockies. 9kg per alloy running 205/55/r16 (10kg) each. So 19kg per corner.

Never knew the 16's were so light! On the other hand, for 17's, the DC5R wheels (which look a lot like the CL7R/Accord Euro Sport and/or 05 Lux wheels) are only meant to weigh 9kg each, around the same as the 16" stockies

Looks like my benchmark just shifted!

a 18x7.5 Enkei RPF1 is slightly under 8kg each.

plus 225 40 18 tyre = 18kg.

that's why u see RPF1 a lot on track.

That means the standard CU2 is 17 x 7? I noticed the 17inch wheel looks small for the cu2 and 18inch looks nice(in lux cu2). i think the wheelbase for the cu2 is made for 18inch wheels.. not sure what others think about it.

For the CU2 standard model we have 17x7.5 wheels a half inch wider than CL9 17" wheels. Yes 17" wheels look quite small on our cars :( Those RPF1 look the goods! I think the Realtime Racing TSX in the states are using those too for the car and it's 17" but looks quite nice!
