the irony of your username , OP - your brake discs surface is glazed ! they need machining or perhaps replacing if the thickness isnt or wont be within spec after machining.

if theyre warped beyond repair you might need new discs!

Could it be a case where the disc's or something (?) hasn't been fitted correctly / flush?

the discs wouldnt be glazed, that will give a spongy pedal feel, and squeeling.

Theyll be warped.

Seeing as your location is :NSW
Vehicle in question : CL9.

Example . You could do it on your own.

Like many have pointed out that your discs maybe warpped.
You could get the machined or go aftermarket.

Even parts wise check out some new aftermarket rotors from the Ozhonda Sponser (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?85998-Rotors-amp-Drums-Australia-(Authorised-Dealer)-Rotors-Brake-pads-avail.-*JDMyard*) in NSW.
Its not as expensive parts wise.

-RDA Front slotted disc $240 incl GST per pair
-RDA Rear slotted disc $250 incl GST per pair
-RDA Front stock replacement pads $50
-RDA Rear stock replacement pads $50

Get ebay rotors lol, I got mine and they work just fine, most of the cross-drilled/slotted disks on ebay are just worked brembo blanks anyway.

PS: whats teh last time you flushed the brake fluid?

I'll say this bro.. Brakes are probably the last thing you want to be a tight ass on... These are the most important safety feature a car has... So keep that in mind when making your decisions on what to go with..

No idea ... apparently I've had a "full service" but I think it was just for the engine. Yeah I was thinking of getting ebay ones and I've been looking and asking for postage prices. Anyone know how much machining a rotor should cost? I was also thinking DIY with the rotors if the machining is too expensive lol

Machining rotors about $40-50 per corner.

if you take the rotors off youself, and take them to autoxcel in bonnyrigg to get them machiened then it only costs about $30 a pair.

I can't believe you want to buy new rotors because they look nice...

Everyone says that but just because it's cheap on from the States doesnt necessarily mean it's bad, we in Australia is being ripped off on part prices (sometimes by our own companies, ala: DBA), we all know that.

The RDA/DBA rotors for sale here are all Chinese made anyhow.
Some of the eBay stuff (Stoptech/88Rotors etc) are very well known and rather trusted products in the States, and some a made in the USA, Id stick my head out saying those are most probably better and cheaper than the RDA/s DBA's you buy here.

It is a joke when you can buy an Australian companies product cheaper in the usa then in australia... every one knows australia pays so much for shit why do u think pedders and companies like that stay in business there.prices are ridiculously expensive

I agree they may look nicer, but sometimes people would change something because it looks nice and not because it gives any improvement. A lot of the really good slotted, and/or cross drilled rotors and pads are designed to work better after a certain temperature is reached, temperatures which are very hard to reach in normal driving on the street, even with the occasional hard drive. On the other hand, the cheaper cross drilled rotors are prone to cracking, and can be quite dangerous.. but yeah.. each to their own.. :)

what do you guys think of these? I think they're the cheapest I could find

Try these, stoptech is a good brand, and it's made in the US as far as I know.

Anyone know anything about asbestos and brakes in euros? Should I be taking precautions before doing anything to the rotors?

Modern brake pads are asbestos free now. However, the brake dust is still very very bad for your lungs and can potentially still cause cancer if you inhale enough of the stuff, which is the issue with asbestos. I recommend getting a face mask, the type that construction workers use. They sell them at Bunnings for cheap.

Asbestos was good for brakes I'd still get them if I could but I think its only illegal in some countries and I'm pretty sure some companies still use it

Yup, better safe than sorry. A mask is cheap anyway. And asbestos-free brake dust still gives you nasty coughs! If you don't dare lick the brake dust with your tongue, then you certainly shouldn't be inhaling it!

hose it down with mist of water before you take the wheel off might help
