My gf car is playing up. It was running superb and was driving it all day today suddenly before she tried to turn it on, and it wouldn't turn on. It just kept kicking, and sometimes when trying to turn it on you can tell the engine was abuot to start up but then it gave up.
Its fitted with an aftermarket alarm + immoboliser. Could it be the problem?
Fuel pump? Fuel line? Fuel filter?
Ecu has has bad connections to motor? Loose plugs/cables?
ps. does anyone know of good mobile mechs in bris? i cant afford to tow iit around for quotes..
cheers

could be the alarm
also could be the main PGMFI relay, coil, ICM ( Igniter )
at the end of the day could be anything.
you want to do some tests ???

Did the problem start to surface only after the alarm had been installed? If so I reckon the cause might be on the immobliser, if it's only recent, possibilities varies like ECU-MAN mentioned....

Racq came this morning and said its fuel related. He put petrol into the intake manifold, the car started up. Choked and died, even with hard rev.
Towed to mechanic, he tested everything and confirmed that the fuel pump isn't pumping fuel as no fuel goes thru the fuel lines.
He said the cheapest internal pump he could get was $370.00, he said sounds like the word bosch but couldnt understand him over the phone. Any ideas?
Has anyone changed fuel pump for the honda integra vtir dc2 model?
Please reply as we need the car to get around.
PS. Honda sells the pump for $1000.00!!!!
cheers

Hmmm I will ask him tomorrow morning. Main relay, so thats the fuel pump relay?
He said he said everything has power that should power the car, but i will ask any way.

sort of, its the main PGMFI ( ECU ) relay which also provides power to the fuel pump.
the relay only need to be resoldered if at fault.
how old is your car ???

95. The mech was shocked that a honda pump played up.
Ah ok, so the PGMFI is that in the engine bay? I saw the racq guy use a power test on all of the fuse boxes. They all lit up.
But will definately ask him :D

Problem solved. Car is running again, good stuff just in time for the weekend.
Problems
- fuel pump relay was playing up.
- fuel pump itself had a 12v reading, and 10mins later check had no reading. Hit it has a reading so got a 2nd hand one with 3months warranty for $130.00
Total of parts and labour cost $250.00 which is cheap i think.
cheers to everyone that replied :D
