Hi!
recently crashed my eg vti hatch into a gutter and bent some of the rear suspension components on the drivers side. took it to the local tire shop and told them I was a total tard when it comes to rear suspension on a honda (I've only recently come to hondas from live axle nissans...) and the guy at the tire shop told me I have bent a lot of stuff.

Basically he told me the easiest thing is to replace the whole right hand corner of the suspension components minus the coilover..

I have dc2r rear end, that's all I know.. which from what I understand is eg6/dc2r control arm and eyelet bottom coilover? What else will I need to replace other than rotor and caliper, strut & sway bar? and where should I start to source these parts?

my interweb searching skills suck so I can't even get a diagram of the rear of an eg5

cheers guys

Download your car service manual for future teardown reference.

So you have an EG5 rear trailing arm and brake set up with DC2R/EG6 coilover and Lower control arm set up?
In the picture above the only difference is the "lower arm"

yeah cheers. figured as much. mine are definitely much larger arms. I've been told they aren't bent, so here's hoping they're alright.. I don't know how much I trust the tire shop guys assessment though, as he told me my 'stub axles' were bent.. I dno much about it all but that sounds a bit too VL to me.. haha

and pwc doesn't mean powdercoating.. but good guess I suppose! haha

ahhh had a mate who did this to his eg years ago...into corner too hot, back came out and into a gutter on the passenger side. had to replace the buckled rim, entire rear trailing arm and brake hub. Thank christ it didn't hit hard enough to bend the coilovers or destroy the subframe.

if you're worried about the LCA being bent, just get brand new oem ones or 2nd hand oem ones. I'm sure i saw a set selling in private sales section this week..and if not JDM yard, JDM Concept stock them brand new from Honda. Quite pricey though.

and while your changing over the suspension components, change over your bushes as well.
