so decided to remove my rear spoiler the other day, all went well, plugged the holes, coloured the plugs, pulled the black tape off the high-mount brake light, went to connect the light...... but wait a minute, there is no wiring or connector for the bulb??

surely this cannot be!! have i overlooked something? i did the exact same thing when i had a prelude and it was as simple as just reconnect the unused wire but there just seems to be nothing!! and the idea of using the wiring from the spoiler doesnt seem right as it is perfectly hidden away and cable tied.

correct me if im wrong but isnt it illegal to only have 2 brake lights, much the same as driving with only 1 headlight working??

I have an original spoiler on mine as well - I thought the spoiler wiring actually plugged into the original high mount brake light wiring? At least that's what it looked like the last time I was in the boot installing new 6x9s (could be wrong though, it's been a while). I'd check around the area (or trace back the spoiler wiring) to see if there's something to unplug!

For the record, there's no bulb socket or connector on mine either.

I can't comment on the wiring dilemma but I can confirm that all ADR-compliant cars must have a centre high-mount brake light. It's interesting that Honda disconnected the windscreen one, most of the cars I see with a stock spoiler just have two high-mount stops, one in the usual windscreen spot and one in the spoiler.

Anyway your car won't pass roadworthy until you have one.

I dont need it to pass roadworthy anytime soon, just not get pulled over for having a missing light is what is preferable. And there is 1 cable with a plug mid-way through which could be the extension to the spoiler but how would i go about getting a socket with a bulb. autobarn perhaps??

Any auto store will be able to get you a globe socket
