Hey guys, I have recently purchased a dc2r with a twin plate clutch. It is a little too loud for my taste. Can anyone recommend a stock feeling/sounding clutch that I could replace the twin plate with.

Thanks in advance, Adam.

Why not get a stock honda DC2R clutch???

Twin plate? Are you serious? Is the car stock? Maybe its an Ogura single plate clutch as they are noisy.

The car has q a bit of work done to it :-) it is noisy as f$&k!

I assumed that an oem clutch would be expensive? Is this incorrect?

Probably the same price as an Exedy HD, I should think? Or maybe even more. I paid like $950 to get an OEM clutch swapped in/out of my car + machine flywheeled in '09. I'm assuming the labour was around the $500 mark so $400+ for the OEM clutch.

I looked up the exedy standard HD type clutch for dc2 here at work (supercheap) a while ago, the kit was something like $550 order in. however I've found an exedy stage 1 w/HF01 lightweight flywheel for around the same price on ebay US.

exedy also make very good OE replacement clutches that are quite affordable, definitely cheaper then OEM. :)

Did you even read what he said? He said he wants to swap out the twin plate...

To op have you considered competition clutches? They are quite bang for buck and are easy to drive. Just dont go getting a stage 5 or something unless you need it. But they are reasonably quiet. Same goes for the exedy sports tuff clutches pretty good and easy to drive. Just avoid 6puk's and twin plates and you should be good.

oh okay i thought he was having a go at him as in "twin plate?" (that clutch is overkill your cars just stock mentality) pretty easy to read what he said in a different context.

OP

I recommend a exedy organic clutch kit to replace what you have.

It's heavy duty , can take alot of power/mods - quiet and long lasting. Feels heavy but not overly ankle breaking - can be used in traffic and racing alike.
