turbo os N/A

im just about to start serious mods over the coarse of this year to my dc2r,
but im unsure as to if i want turbo or N/A, im fully aware of the costs and whats involved in each but my question is:

a) can some one with a turbo type r take me for a drive
b)can some one with a decent N/A setup take me for a drive

Ask yourself this first, what do you want out of your car?

A drag happy car? Then boost.

A track happy car, then N/A.

Generally speaking.

Have a look/read at Forced Induction threads/posts and All Motor threads/posts. Might help you in your decision.

What ToE said but we all know what the type R is made for. Was never made for a straight line car. If you wanted a drag happy car why don't you just get a turbo car. Be much cheaper in the long run.

Oh yeah....By boosting a Type R it defeats the purpose of having a well balanced car. Might as well boost a VTIR. You're going to destroy a perfectly beautiful machine by boosting a type R but by god it will fly. If you stick to N/A you're gonna have urself ultamite track machine.

u know why pedeh, cos when it hist boost, its all over, the traction is gone, and ur car will skid sideways from the omg huge sick re torque!

yeah stick to NA for track, cos Turbos were banned in F1 cos they killed all of drivers on the track cos of the torque steer, and how unbalanced the car is..

There's been an in depth discussion regarding the reliability and performance of boosted ITR's vs. worked NA ITR's and their tracking prowess over on cRSX Aus.

Seems that the routine canned advice of "boost for "drag", NA route for track" isn't always 100%.

I suggest you do some further research Jomsy, before taking on board too much 'Net mechanic advice. I really have no idea or experience regarding this whatsoever, so I won't bother inputting directly to your question. :)

I was just wondering how can torque steer occur on an F1 car are they not rwd unless u mean oversteer.
Speaking of F1 does anybody know where to get past seasons of F1 like the good old days of turbos and senna and mansel and other greats not like todays F1 whith a certain red machine, wink wink!

its is honestly going to be a street car with maybe a track session one every 2 months(either drags or laps), im only looking for about 140-150 kw at the wheels, which isnt that much i can easily get this with a AVO turbo kit which is just under $7000, or with headers, exhaust, intake, cams,etc... which is the same price give or take

what i want to no is how drivable they are, im guessing the turbo kit will act like a stock R up untill boost comes on, but as for a N/A car what sort of power delivery does it have compared to a stock R

dude the ultimate thing to do is have a N/A car that can munch turbo which is possible sometimes.. but yeah.. id turbo because.. its an easy way to get dig out power from you car..
