Rear seat side panel removal

Anyone know how to remove these seat panels? Picture attached.

I want to remove them in order to place seat covers over them.

I've tried pulling different ways with medium force without any luck.

Theres one bolt underneath thats holding it and a clip on top

Is there a technique to unclipping? Is it a matter of pulling hard directly outward? ie. towards the front of the car?
