B16B.
There's no such thing as a B18A from my knowledge. The B18B/B18C's came in the DC2's.
d16y8 is SOHC vtec, d16a8 is DOHC non vtec, they both make about the same power. not sure aout a d16y4. (d series, 1.6l)
civic type r has a b16b (b series, 1.6l)
the y4 is a 86kw GLi engine. SOHC non-vtec. www.turbod16.com
something I probably neglected to mention.
you should see a significan tpower increase even with low boost (not sure how high you can take this engine though, 6psi ?)
also turboing a d series engine has the advantage of if you destroy your engine, it costs very little to replkace it, if this is your first turbo project it's probably not a bad place to start.

A properly setup 6psi system (ECU, Injectors, Intercooler) should produce close to 100kw to the wheels. Your gearbox if it's a manual should handle fine, but your stocky clutch won't last long.
