I've just got new A/C filters today (from US... apparently the TSX filter is the same size as a Chrysler...)

So I pulled out the old filter as per the instructions on the Users Manual (thick book)

HOLY CRAP.

Look at the difference, imagine if your wife or kids have asthma or allergies.

That's not looking so bad :D - when I pulled mine out there were what appeared to be dead bugs in it! Not to mention the fact that mine hadn't been installed properly and was bent out of shape in one corner, letting through unfiltered air!

How many years did it go through without changing the filter?

Edit: And how much is it for a new one?

probably 2 - 3 yr old, since the 100k service iirc

It cost me $26 USD to my door.

If it looks like that, its doing it's job. Just imagine, that's what you're normally breathing in

Sent from my custard cannon like Peter North.

that's nothing compared to what mine looked like.

it literally looked like a birds nest.

someone on the forums recomended the carbon activated filters from cairfil.

bought one and installed using the instructions they included - was easier than I thought.

I'd agree but I actually had a feel at both sides, they are both dusty (although one side is not nearly as bad as the other)

The only Issue I can see is that dust normally settles down in ambient air, instead of being blasted at my face when I turn the A/c on.

Unsure bout CU2 but my a/c filter was behind the glove box, unhook the side, and pull out and the a/c filter was just around there

Is the AC filter the same as the cabin filter? (the one located inside glove box for CU2)
