The head? A header is the exhaust manifold.

If you wanna swap to a Y8 header you're wasting your time!

And I wouldn't bother changing the actual head to a Y8 either. Just enjoy the Y4...

the power an torque is very minimum gain if u do the swap, by all means do it, if u want the vtec head, but imo, ur better off getting a civic that already has the y8, that being a Ej8 civic, or drop the D16y8 in ur current vehicle...

An alternative is the d16y1, similar to Y8, but there is a difference, the oil pump being the main one

and the engine is OBD-1 not OBD-2 and its older than the EK chassis making it an illegal swap
also the D16y4 has a strange OBD setup - its not OBD-1 but its not entirely OBD-2 either
the D16y4 is very hard to mix and match parts for

either build the D16y4 as it is - or bolt in a D16y8
make sure you get the y8 gearbox as well - its got better ratios
