Apparently changes are:

Front grill, led tail, new style wheels, new colour, new interior trim and slightly redesigned dials.

The only item of interest to me is the LED tails.....

ive got an MY11 ody lux demo at the moment, still one of my fav hondas to drive still

Phillip.. looks like those LED tails will not fit our model..note the little cut out part with the silver garnish... the current lights don't have that cut out.. hopefully it's just a cover and the whole assembly would fit..

Philip Lee

as far as i can see from the small pic, the outer tail lights have the same shape as ours (ie. no metal change). the inner ones have different shape but that panel is plastic and should be easily swapped for the FL version.

so i believe to change to FL LEDs, we'll need the lights and the plastic panel.

Adrian128
22-08-2011, 04:58 PM
So you think that under that plastic panel the light housing extends to fill in the hole? Or would the plastic panel cover the gap left by the new light?

Philip Lee

The inner lights have diff shape to ours and to fit them u need the new panel (which is a whole piece of plastic that covers around the license plate etc.)

Absolute has a better K24 than what we get tho.

I don't speak Japanese, but did he mentioned CVT (2nd video?)

Philip Lee

Yes, Japanese spec RB3 non Absolute all have CVT. lucky we don't.

When I looked at the link, it showed a pic of an engine and quite clearly above it was V6 , but now I look at it, I guess it says something about the 4 Cyl being the same power? still, shame they dont put the Legend V6 in one, that would be sweet...

Wondering why you would say lucky we don't CVT?
I thought CVT would be good for fuel economy while cruising, not very good for stop start I know (I have an Audi with CVT)
Personally I think the current gearbox doesn't match well with the engine, causing the high fuel consumption - but this is just my personal opinion.

Philip Lee

i had the GD Jazz which came with CVT. if you search around forum/net, i'm sure you will find many owners had problem with it.

althought our 5sp auto isn't state of the art but it's smooth and does a reasonable good job. i think it's fine and match the car. i believe the relative lack of torque + heavy chassis are the main reason for the poor fuel economy.

CVT is terrible. i hate driving any honda with CVT. if it stuffs up it cost alot to fix. plus it just feels gay driving with it.

Website has been updated. Will be on sale in Japan on the 6 Oct.

My personal thoughts are too much chrome so less sporty looking then pre FL...

Looking nice...I am glad they didn't change the front look much as it is already very nice. Can't wait to see more pics of the rear and interior!

Does anyone know the release date for the facelift in OZ?

It would be great if they also give us the V6 option - which I doubt but hey you'll never know

Thanks! Nice to know that... I'm currently looking @ 7 seaters. The final 3 choices are Sorento, CX9 and Odyssey.

Never a fan of the looks of Ody, but quality might be above the Sorento, while CX9 is just too expensive to have and petrol...

Made in Japan brand new Hondas are getting rare these days....... (only Accord Euro, Odyssey, the hybrids and Legend left).

At the risk of getting stonned by my fellow Odyssey brothers.... I'd seriously consider the Sorento.

lol, only reason I say that is because of the diesel power that the Sorento provides..I haven't had the chance to test drive one, but I am considering it if I change cars

If I am in the market for an SUV, I'd wait for the cx5 diesel. Not a 7 seater tho.

I still can't get myself to buy Korean.

Absolute rear:

from what i can see, only exterior changes are front grill, LED tails and wheels. Absolute has clear LED tails and a round muffler tip.

personally i prefer the red tails better but there is so little change to the FL.

also the new tails make the rear looks flatter and less sporty. there are just too much chrome now....

Looks like it has already been released. The Drive Car (people mover) of the year site has pictures of it. Even has the eco button and navigation as standard.
