the barrell of my jazz (driver side) doesn't turn/unlock/lock. maybe an attempted break in? dont know.. it means i goto lock the car by reaching through the car from the passenger side to press the lock down every time i want to get in and out of the car.

i put the key in and it dosn't turn. the spare key allows it to turn but it feels jammed and still does not unlock/lock the door.. passenger door locks and unlocks fine.

QUESTION: if i swap the passenger door lock barrell with the driver side barrell, will this work in opposite doors?

Don't they come standard with keyless entry?

Any sign of damage, like from a screwdriver or something?

I'd try poking open the keyhole and spraying some WD40 in, also lubricate your key with some graphite.

Then if that doesn't work you can buy a new key barrel and have the internal fingers of the barrel positioned to accept your current key, then replace.

I've only done this on an '86 Corolla but I wouldn't be surprised if the sides aren't interchangeable.
