inside lights

Hey I've just bought a second hand Honda integra 2004 model and the gear lights don't light up... I was just wondering if they r supposed to? You know the ones that display P, R, N, D etc. Just to know if I should buy a new lightbulb or fuse for it. Thank you...

all the light dont light up or just specific one e.g "D" because its a common problem with all cars. imagine how many times they have to light up in their lifetime
