The aerial is in the back window so if your keeping it in a concealed spot at the front that maybe why.. just a though

i use 94.5 but you def wont get crystal clear quality with any of frequencies, i just leave mine in the cup holder/compartment underneath the radio

Do you have the charger plugged in? That can cause problems.

your never gonna get great reception from any fm transmitter, the main reason being the transmitter is inside the car, and the antenna is outside. you can get some rf modulators which then splice directly into the antenna wire for better reception, but if you want good quality sound? aux in (3.5mm) is the way!

I have the same sort of problem on my iPhone, i found by putting the phone/transmitter thingy on top of the steering colum or in the instrument cluster help.

Get a proper headunit so you can hook up an iPod ;)

Yeah I used an FM transmitter for a while and it was ok but the quality was poor and the volume was low. Buy an xcarlink, you won't be disappointed.

I was worried too but it was easy as anything to install... never modded a car in my life and it took me ten minutes to access the back of the head unit. Hardest bit was working out where to put the xcarlink.

They aren't in shops, at least not as cheaply as they are available online. Just search ebay - they're about $80 for a Chinese 'imitation'. I've got one and it's just fine.

It's just a darn cable, the hard part is taking the dashboard apart.

Depends in the model I guess. I can only speak for my car which is the auto standard trim... that was piss easy.
