Hi, I've been trying to find Euro specific information about changing transmission fluid. Here's the story:

I bought a used 05 Accord Euro (auto) about 4 months ago, and I've been getting a shuddering feeling when it changes gears, not every time but just enough. I've done a bit of research, and apparently this is due to the transmission fluid going bad.

So.. I checked the logs and found that the fluid has never been changed, and the car has done 140,000km's. In the book it says it should be changed every 30,000-60,000km, so I was a little concerned. I'd go out and just get it changed but I've heard some bad things happen to transmissions when fluid over 100,000km's is changed.

So my question is, at 140,000km's, should I get the transmission fluid changed?

Thanks

EDIT: Sorry didn't notice Euro subforum, can this be moved?

Yes, you should have it done asap.

Some people on the forums here do a change every 20000 km.

Remember everytime you exchange the ATF, only 1/3 of the fluid actually drains out.

Okay thanks. I guess "dont change after 100,000" is just a myth?

Never heard the don't change after 100,000 statement.

Change it every 2 years/40,000 at the longest. Make sure you use Honda auto transmission fluid and not a 3rd party branded one. There is a difference.

I will have it changed ASAP, and I'll make sure Honda branded fluid is used. Thanks guys, you put my mind at ease.
