Hi guys

Just wondering when I should be looking to clean or change my pod filter on my euro. It's done almost 10k. It also sits as a long ram near the front bar of the car where the stock intake was originally.

Cheers

Really? I heard you can also clean it separately with oil and water flush?

Could someone verify please?

depends if it's a dry or oiled filter

no point cleaning the oiled ones, theyre too expensive $100+ and then u gota maintain them.

best just to buy a 3A racing pod (rated to have the most airflow by autosalon mag) for $30ish and replacing it every now and then

I agree, cleaning/drying/re-oiling is just too much trouble, I did it with my filter panel and it's just too much trouble.

And if you don't have a back up filter, your car is off the road for the entire duration obthe filter drying (while takes FOREVER)

So you would suggest changing every 10 k km?

change it weneva u feel the need, if it looks dirty ect change it. depends on where u drive, eg dirt roads u will change it more frequently then 100% tarmac driving coz it wont get clogged with dirt n shit.

just change it every 10-15k n keep her breathing

Did your Injen CAI come with a red oiled filter or a blue Amsoil dry filter? Don't bother changing the filter if it's the blue nano-fibre one. You're meant to vacuum/blow the shit off the outside with low pressure.
I dare say it has better filtration than the 3A cotton filter from that test performed years ago anyway, since it's new technology.

mine was blue!

imo the 3a is still better then the blue one that comes with the injen,

the 3a is a twin chronological pod filter where as the injen one is just a single.

thats just my opinion from driving around with both, no dyno results to prove

Why you should clean your air filter

More like why you should CHANGE your airfilter.... I have 2 filters on rotation (1 OEM, 1 simota) lol.... They take forever to dry.

Not on a day like this windy and sunny I'm not paying 100 bucks for another k&n pod

No need for K&N, 3a racing/Amsoil/simota all works well enough
