B18c = Easier
K24a = Better. Expensive.

Lots involved with both engines. B-series swap will be a little easier though. K swap alot more is involved, as the drivers side mount has to be replaced etc... Plus going K series is going to absolutely kill your wallet/bank balance.

Basically how keen are you, and how much money do you have?

iv got 10gz to spend on the conversion.. my mate has a dc2r and its pretty much stock with exhaust and intake and his running 14.4 at eastern creek so im basically trying to run low 13s and beat him lol

10 g can easily put a k24 in ur eg without labour. With labour may be pushing it a bit.
and ur times will be looking into the 12s but even b18cr in egs push high 13s?

that should help out on what u need..
u dont really buy half cuts for k24s the engines only sell for like 1.5k?? really cheap. compared to b18c or k20.
it is plug and play if u buy kswap harness, which makes joining the eg harness with the k20 harness so much easier.
all u need is in the link tho go through it!
good luck, btw u paying for labour?
and yes u can keep p/s on eg many diy on it in k20a.org

yeah u could use euro engine mounts/axels and **** around with them, or buy a pre made kswap mounts and cv joints. If ur doing it all diy then 10k should easily clear this project.

If you can afford it in your budget, go for the 6 speed LSD itr box over the euro box

On your P's, $10g to splash, and you wanna go drag racing?

Best put some of that cash away for a house deposit lol.

K > B and keep it smart/safe.

If your on p's i'd think that a b18 looks much more at home/standard looking in an eg engine bay than a k-series. Especially if you put a black rocker cover on it most cops would be hard pressed to know what it is

b18c is the way to go if your on your Ps, plug and play in a vti, no engineer certificated required

Yeah alot of ppl r saying b18 but it's hard trying to find a front cut in Sydney.. And yeah I'm on my reds due to loosing my licence for 3 tees and starting all over again :( and this it my 2 conversion my first was a sr20ve in a n15 SSS but that was no were my mate in his dc2 was killing me every run we had so I thought vtec is the wayy to go

I dont know about Sydney but in melb you do need an engineers cert as it's more than 200cc increase in capacity. Our p plate laws don't allow engine conversions either.

you would also need a engineers cert in sydney aswell, which also means you need to upgrade the brakes.

Man if you got 10k to splash go the k. The b18 is good all rounder package but it's too common and there is one more thing to consider is the reseller value. Yes the k is gonna cost you more but i think you can kinda of break even or close. And more torque. Love the torque .

There is no such thing as breaking even with modified cars. Not choosing an engine because it's common is the stupidest shit I ever heard. Its a motor not a t shirt

mate I have done (break even) it a few times already !! common choice might sound stupid to you and obviously we are not on the same page !! at the end of the day I would rather spend the few grand extra and gone K24 !!

sell the eg, use that to top up the 10k to get a dc2r. you get b18cr, a better chassis, better suspension, better brakes, recaro, type r sticker, momo steering wheel (ferrari 360 ish), better resale.

Dc2r and eg share the same chassis. Eg with dc2r motor is substantially quicker and more fun

True that, and chasis can be easily improved with some smart bracing and suspension mods
