Howdy all,

Just wondering if B18 type r cams would work ok in my B18c2? I've got access to a set for free and if i don't have to touch the valve springs then I'm considering them.

As long as you do not raise the rev limit yes.

Yup. Although it is recommend you atleast match the springs with the ITR cams if you raise the rpm's.

Awesome, so If i keep the rev limit at stock, it should run fine?

wouldnt you have to tune the cams to the engine ?

As long as you do not raise the rev limit yes.

Whats the point then? Your going to sacrifice low end power and not be able to rev it up to its peak power.

Hasnt this already been covered several times?

what are you hoping to gain from this modification?

Yes they will increase hp in the top end as they will increase your rpm, (the higher you rev a motor the more power it will make) but if your not going to upgrade ur crank shaft then you shouldnt change your rev limit. If you stay with your current rev limit you wont make any extra power and wil probably lose power. You shpuld also upgrade your springs and valves.

Dont forget that Honda specially designed the type r crank shaft to be perfectly balanced so it can spin at 9,000 rpm safely

Low end power will not change. (Low cam)
Power on Vtec will increase as revs increase to a total of approx 9hp gain over stock (at the wheels)
As above, don't increase the rev limit.
