88 GL Gearbox vs 92 SI Gearbox

ok. my 92 SI gear box is shat. its on its last legs. now i have a 88 GL gearbox from one of the carby engines...will that fit? does it have the same gear ratios? cos i rang the three parts places for nsw and honbits is $550 for a 92 si and the other two places want $900....

i have the 88 one just sitting there so i need to know asap if i can use that....

you cant use cable clutch type gearbox into hydro clutch type gearbox.
get a proper gearbox dude.

edit: is a 95 VTi box, perfect fit, 80k! i'll chuck in a stock flywheel to suit also ;)
