Hi, this is a noooooob question.

i currently have eg shocks for my front of my car, i think its for eg because of the two brake lining tab holders. i want to change to my KYB shocks for ek... but i recall that the eg shocks were shorter than the ek? is that right?

I dont want to raise the height... i want to lower the front abit more buy getting shorter shocks!!

Can anyone tell me the diffrence between eg shock height vs ek shock height........ thanks guys!

fronts are same even koni has same part number for EG/EK.
rears are different and you cannot fit EG shocks to EK or EK shocks to EG without some modification.

Eg rear shocks onto EK = 3mm washers on each side

Well for Koni if they have same part number then no, EG = EK (same length)

Actually no, you need to shave the bushings to fit EG shocks to EK, and you need washers to put EK shocks to EG. EG fork is wider than EK.

eg/ek front suspension are exactly the same whether its its oem or aftermarket meaning the answer to your question is no the eg shock is not shorter than the ek shock because they're the same!

rear ones only differ in the fork width as the above ppl have mentioned not too sure about heights of the shock but they're pretty much the same i'd say

im running ek koni yellows with tein s-tech springs in my eg and comparing my front and rear ride height i'd say theyre the same so im pretty sure the heights of the rear shocks are pretty similar if not the same

hope this helps (y)

nope. eg and ek shocks are not shorter they are the same height.

modification: i just sold my daily eg civic recently and it running stock eg suspension at the front and EK low king springs on EK shocks in the rear, to run them i just added some HEAVY DUTY washers , but i had to shave a bit of my aftermarket lower control arms (used a grinder) to make them fit.

to answer your questions the kyb shock height should be the same.. roughly or even the same. and whatever springs you want to run in them you just have to compress them. I had a set of lowering springs off a eg/dc2 which i compressed onto my kyb ek shock and they run fine.

hope this helps. goodluck

What you said doesn't even make sense! You ran HD washers but also shaves your rear lower control arms?

Shaving = increasing gap
Washers = decreasing gap

You just said you did both... Wtf?
