Hey guys,

I'm after another civic, I want a manual, hatch. I plan on doing a b swap later, but I want all electric options now, Ie: power windows, mirrors and really want sunroof. I believe gli's are the only models with all the features? Should I be looking at an eg or ek for all of this? And is it my understanding that you do not need a mod plate (qld) if you do swap engines as they are same series?

Thanks!

eg vti and ek vti-r both come with sunroofs and all other features.
gli comes with all the electric options but no sunroof.

I got eg Gli which come with Sunroof ;) and rear disc. Get Vti which come with vtec so you do not need to wire vtec

Personally I like the look of the EG's, but the EK's (VTi) have 262mm disc brakes apparently, whereas the EG VTi only has 242mm. Just something to think about, otherwise just pick whatever you like best.

If you're doing a B-swap then why don't you just look for an EG6 or EK4?

I've been looking through carsales a fair bit and it seems most have power windows etc, but not sunroofs, are there any eg/ek that come standard or only as options?

VTi's come with sunroof as optional.

also, unless the civic you picked came with a b series (or as an option) you WILL need the swap mod plated, especially if the power increase is more than 20% (which i believe - though im not sure - most b series are around 60% more power). for example a d15s and 16s have around 100-115hp whereas a b16 is more like 160hp...

Exactly. So just buy an EG6 or EK4, or any Civic that's already been swapped. You can pick up a B-swapped Civic for $5,000-7,000 easily.
