I did replace headgasket on a friend car, d16y8 engine. Took the head to resurface, cleaned everything block ...
Did a compression test after i finished it has low compression 180 -90 -90 -90.
what could be the problem timing is out ??
When adjusting timing should the valves be on Intake or exhaust side ?

I was saying should it be in intake stroke or exhaust?
Never mind people, working perfect, did it after engine warm and working perfect 180 180 180 180 +-

Why coupe feels different to hatchback. was driving around 100 but feel like 60 , in hatchback driving 100 feel like flying :O.
Btw Automatic Gearbox is shit

i thought adjusting timing, piston #1 is at TDC, all valves closed (compression stroke) .
not intake stroke or exhaust stroke because they would in contact with camlobes.

Somebody said in other forum should be in TDC piston 1 intake stroke. Thanks a lot

it doesnt matter what stroke #1 is as long as the word UP on the cam pully is up and the markers line up on the head and the crank marker lines up everything will be fine

Yes that what I did Mark up is up and line lined up but after Having low compression for nor reason i though i Did something wrong, so i checked some where else and they said should be in tdc intake stroke.
