Glue on wing safe?

Hey guys i bought a CF spoon wing replica thingo a while back for my jazz.

but the holes are just in the wrong spot!

so i was wondering if it would be a safe move to glue it down.
and what type of glue to use.

keep in mind the spoon wing has alot of surface area touching the boot lid.

i can get pics to show u if u like.

i agree with Indie. maybe u would consider using strong double sided tape for the job :)

The 3m automotive double sided tape is really strong once stuck on but do you really trust it? considering the wing is mounted on it's side and not from the bottom, could be a chance it would fall off. Make sure you prep the area well nice and clean with alcohol or something similar, I've heard warming up the contact area helps too but never too hot, and go hard on the tape, make sure every contact area is covered. Otherwise try sikaflex? not sure how easy it is to get that off though.

what do u mean by mounted on its side??

anyone tried 3m automix?

I may be wrong but isn't the wings contact area vertical? if thats the case there will some weight pulling on it and over time the tape may weaken.

if theyre JUST in the wrong spot, would you consider drilling/filing out the holes? if it was mine i'd much prefer to do that then take my chances with 3m tape

either redrill holes if you can and mount it properly
or if its going to be permanently stuck on there sikaflex will do the job (y) just put a generous amount but dont overdo it! might ooze everywhere and dont get it on your hands LOL had that done many times... still havent learnt my lesson haha

get polyurethane glue with the gluegun thing. its the same thing used to stick that rubber thing across the door that stops it gettin bumped... whats it called...

ahh ok, ive decided to drill new wholes into the spoiler, will see how easy that is tomorrow.

unfortunately i cant re use the old holes and to allign the spoon wing properly the wholes would go through the weakest part of the boot lid and also through a spot that cannot be drilled through due to things on the inside of the lid for the brake light wiring.

i was just wandering what the best way to go would be because if i glue it on i dont want it creating so much drag it flies off and hits some poor bloke n kills him :/
