Hi All,

In anticipation of the upcoming Honda Nationals, I managed to grab a cheap alloy oil catch can, now I have had a bit of a search, and most previous posts here seem to only deal with mounting one and routing it through the air intake.

I have a carbon fiber whale wizzer air intake, and the standard fitting (rubber grommet) is worn, so I was thinking to just cover it up, and add a filtered vent to my catch can.

Now, what I would like to know, I was going to route the two pipes to the PCV valve on the crankcase, and the cam cover, but add a filter to the catch can, so that I don't need to connect it to the air intake.

Is this road legal? and track legal? I have seen a few catch cans that come with the filter, but want to make sure I get the correct one if I am going to modify my car, has anyone also done this (pics please?) and does the filter effectively stop oil mist from getting all over the engine bay?

Advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

i dont think it would be street legal, emissions need to be vented back to combustion chamber.
and why are you routing the vapour from crankcase through pcv back to valve cover?
it seems like defeats the purpose of having a pcv valve in crankcase in the first place.

sorry, explained wrong, there will be a hose from the crankcase pcv to the catch can, and another from the valve cover to the catch can, I was just trying to make it more simple and avoid using the air intake, the carbon fibre tends to eat the rubber grommets due to movement.
