Hey guys,

Over the last 2 weeks, what I've noticed during 1st gear take off's, is a slipping type noise that can be heard.

Sounds a bit like a belt slipping, but I suspect it might be a syncro issue with the gear box? Any ideas?

Ill be heading to a mechanic on the weekend for a service and have the matter looked into, but would like to hear any ideas on the matter. Cheers.

BTW:
Its a Manual Euro 2006, done about 120,000km. Noise is only intermittent.

Could be the clutch starting to wear out, or some clutch issue. It won't be a synchro issue. The car will start to feel sluggish when pulling away from stop if the clutch is slipping.

You should also check the belt tensioner indicator on the accessories belt. Probably almost due to have that serviced.

Thanks for the reply, the clutch was replaced about a year ago, so not sure if that will be the problem. Ill have the mechanics look into it tomorrow and see what they have to say. Its just weird it happens almost randomly, drove it all day yesterday and not once did I hear the noise.

Guess Ill update this once I find out whats going on.
