my exhaust farts

Well that's the description my mate gave it when I demonstrated it to him.

I have a 94 breeze. 1.5L single carb. I've recently taken the carb and intake manifold off and refitted it. Won't go into that. However, I've since been having some trouble setting the idle. With the throttle cable etc.

Anyway, what it is doing atm is when I rev and then let go of the throttle the exhaust is making a farty sort of noise. Not sure how else to describe it. Is this likely to be a mixture issue? If not, does anyone have any more suggestions. thanks.

edit: I have stock exhaust so it shouldn't be making much noise at all ;)

yeah could be a gargle. at times it's a pretty violent gargle. like it's building up a bit of pressure then letting it out.

it could be. sort of sounds like that. but no where near as loud as those ones that sound like gun shots. Anyone got any suggestions what is causing this? Or anything similar?

dont vtecs usually make a raspy noise? or do u got a stock exhaust

my exhaust sound like its drowning, makes a gurgle noise

it's non vtec. and it's my stock exhaust. That's why I'm worried. It shouldn't be making any noise.
