Guys!! my car is making the weirdest noise (imagine dragging a solid metal pole along the bitumen). it make this sound at 50kms in fifth gear full throttle and 6th gear at 65-70 kms full throttle. it only does it in those two gears in the first 10-15 minutes from a dead-cold start.
anyone know what could be wrong?

OP its a good idea if you try to drive normally and below 3,000 rpm until a few mins after the engine is heated, to make sure everything is heated up and preventing damage, i think every car makes noises if you try to give it too much load on a cold start :)

i know that. but it still does it even after 8 minutes. even when warm itll do it, and i definately am not cold start flooring(im just saying full throttle but itll do it either way, the car has never done it before) .
the sound is really prominent to the front left. and its def not the pinging issue.

It's because ur foot is down in an incorrect gear open throttle body at 60km in fifth and 6th doing I would assume close to 2000 rpms

Full throttle at 50km/h in 5th gear + 70km/h in 6th on a cold start.... Why?

Front left, 5th and 6th gear low speed and high load.....
Gearbox is on the front left (passenger's side)...
I reckon you are causing some damage to the gearbox.......

I went to fifth gear last night at 60 and put my foot half the way down sounds like shit too scared to go any further.... Sounds like its the driver not the car

it only takes my car 2 minutes to heat up.
the temp gauge starts to move after 40 seconds...
If it takes your car 8 minutes to heat up, you might want to get a better flowing engine oil.

it was just a random number, car is serviced by honda.
also, "even if u full throttle on a cold start then engine doesnt open full throttle in the higher gear range due to the DBW. Cus it's being controlled".. told today by honda.
the sound im hearing is not the too much load where the engine struggles. will know by friday.

**UPDATE**
well what they said was it could be the gear cables. they tightened / tied them up went for a drive and its 98% reduction in the sound (how they get that figure, i dont kno) and gave me the car for the weekend and will call me monday to see if it is still occuring, they couldnt reproduce the sound but the jazz make a similar sound at 2500-3000, therefore they tried the gear cables.
honda also did a wheel alignment and balance for free. replaced the sub and two front speakers. no mints.
