JW "Scorpion" - 1985 Honda Civic AH Hatch 3rd Gen

heres some before and after teaser pics of my project i've been working on the last 6 months. its my first try at a build and its about 95% complete. my theme is 'modern retro' and its designed as a daily driver. will have some better photos of the whole car in the next month or so when completed.

Well done. It looks clean and tidy. Next step, move it up a notch and grab a D16Y1.

was thinking about an engine conversion, but not too sure. as a daily driver its going to be driven a lot and if something breaks i want it to be cheap to repair. but i am thinking of some webers or bike carbs so the insurance company will value the engine a lot more. apparently the motor needs some modification on it to be included in insurance. the engines been completely pulled apart and made brand new, but thats not enough.

i think its only 40L and does about 500km's with my hasty style of driving, but the engine hasnt been fully broken in yet. you could probably get higher but it is a 1.5L.

its a single din actually...

yep, painted myself. satin black. my first try at painting and although it looks nice from a distance, up close its crap. i had to try the most difficult paint for the first go didnt i. if your gonna do matt or satin, i'd sand the car for 2 weeks beforehand.

Looks pretty nice apart from the yellow bits and running lights Whats so bad about the paint up close? Good luck with it and I hope it turns out well in the future.

I would make my daily as less conspicuous as possible.

i'm practising with the yellow bits, but it goes with something else i'm doing.

hehe, yea the paint... the photos mask it well. if i ever wanted to do a show thing i'd have to sand it back a bit and do it a bit less rushed, but u can see the quality once your about a metre away.

lol, yea it sticks out very easily. have to behave...

front seats are from a same year integra, bolt straight on the runners. then some leather put on em.

No offence but the yellow doesn't work at all.
You have got a dark sinister looking going on with the black and on black but then you've got this bright happy yellow up against it.

none taken. they practically disappear at about 20 metres on the road. i was after a subtle daily driver racer look for this one, with my scorpion tattoo design down one side. apart from a certain look i'm after, the daytime running lights and yellow bits also help with a bit of safety too.

Welcome abourd. Looks good minus the stickers and DRL'S & LED's etc.

yeah, I'm not a fan of DRL's.

unless they're OEM, which looks good. Very hard to make aftermarket look good.

Not sure if those LED's are red or amber, but you can't run red lights at the front.
