I have just bought a eh9 with low KLM's, SOHC D16y1, 4-2-1, 2.25 Straight pipe and Whale Penis intake
Wondering if this gasket will fit, and also would like to know what the standar d16y1 headgasket size is?
AM hoping to bump compression up, the I.H.E has only given me top end, so abit more compression should give me some low down, matched with Shell 100ron I am sure it will be safe without a tune

Whats the standard thickness ?
Have you worked out what this drop in height will do to the exact compression ratio ?
Consider different pistons too ?

For the effort - a d series needs alot more than this to make any decent power !

I don't think you'd notice a significant power gain. If you needed to change your HG then sure go ahead, but otherwise don't bother. Yes most people are happy to use the Y8 gasket when they overhaul their engine, but it's not the kind of thing you do on it's own to achieve power.

The pistons to use are the P29's.

But in spite of that I still suggest going turbo. Less bother.
