just a new topic to a question on old engines
is the b series engine dead?
would you rather get a k series
i bought a few books and reading up on it now
i may plan future plans to do a swap
may not
but the question is it a dead engine
b series known for hi hp but low torque
is it worth it?
considering it could be a 15year engine

B Series engines are not dead.
B- Series motors are known for their excellent output power figures for a small 1.6L.
With minor bolt on mods these engines can push out a decent amount of power.
The price for these engines are anywhere between 800-4000 for a complete halfcut or engines only (depends on what B-motor you get)
Even though they are old engines, if you pick one up for $500 blown, just do a rebuild and it will still cost you less than a K-Swap R approx $4000-8000 half cut + mounts, custom exhausts, etc.. you will be up for almost $10k+ (unless you know how to shop and know what your doing).
I would find a B motor + turbo it ..then your B-series will be a K killer!! ..and yet still under $6k.
at the end of the day, it really depends on how much your willing to spend.
if your willing to spend 10k or more...then im your best friend and share the love :P
