Not sure where to ask this, and it seems like it may be a bit of a noob question, so i posted it here.

I've searched long and hard on the forums, but can't seem to find an answer or DIY guide regarding changing over a full set of locks/keys and ignition barrel for the EG.

I've noticed that there is a set of DC keys/locks/ignition for sale, and it said that they were a great upgrade for an EG. Since my door locks don't open/close from the inside, the key wriggles and has lots of play from the outside, and the ignition barrel is sitting in a dodgey place in the dash and not on the steering column like stock, i was thinking about doing the change.

- How hard is it to swap these parts over?
- Can I simply unplug/plug a new ignition barrel in, or does it have some sort of security to prevent this?
- No idea how the door locks work, but wondering if swapping the locks over will allow me to then lock/unlock from the inside instead of having to use the key.

Any help, or directions to a thread/DIY would be great.

Cheers,
- Dan.

answer to the first 2 questions is "how competent are you?"

third is no......

Eg driver door is designed "not lockable" from the inside. passenger doors are though.

If you want to lock the driver door from inside, you pull on the "door open" handle while locking

door key barrels can be swapped from dc/eg, i think ek is the same too.
as for rear boot key barrel, dc2 is long so i dont think it will fit eg.

hardest part is the main ign where you need a dremel to make a slit on the bolts.
reason being, main ign bracket is held be 2 shear/break away bolts.

as for immobiliser, i think its just as simple as removing the pin in main ign barrel.
