Hey guys,

I'm interested in putting redline MT-90 transmission oil.

Sometimes my DC2R may crunch in gear (when its cold) and do other minor things, but i know redline is known to stop this. Just curious if anyone has used it? And would you recommend it..or is there an even better choice out there?

Cheers,

John

the oil thats in there now isnt that old, but i have no idea what brand was used, so that could also be the problem?

Honda OEM MTF oil is cheaper than redline stuff, so use it first and see how it goes. If not then try redline. Most likely your synchros need replacing; changing the oil so that it doesn't crunch anymore is just hiding the symptoms.

like everyone else is saying, MT-90 is too thick. its hard to find any tranny fluid that is thinner then honda mtf, as it is close to ATF viscosity. thick oil = synchro cannot provide full function = crunch

Honda mtf works great... No more crunching when cold....
