Hey people I'm new to ozHonda I own a Honda civic eg5 vti I'm trying to find what would cause my 2nd gear from popping out when the car rocks usually when slowing down... All front mounts and gearbox mount look good and the engine doesn't rock but I havnt checked the rear mount. There is also a clanking sound I hear when I tap the accelerator in 3rd 4th and 5th gear I'm sure its to do with the same problem. Anyone had this problem before or have any ideas?

Sounds like you need that GBox looked at. Clutch still good? Slipping out in any other gears?

The clutch is still good and it doesn't pop out in any other gear... I'm probably gonna just replace the gearbox in the end but i thought i would ask first.... Someone said rubber mount but I'm not sure if that just means one of the engine or transmission mounts or something more technical...

It will be the 2nd gear syncro. I had the same problem with my old ek civic. I replaced all my syncros in my gearbox at my work and all good after.

It's not worth it IMO. D16's are so cheap. Just hold the gearstick in place while you're in 2nd and get used to it :)

this happened to me in 4th because after changing my clutch my rear engine mount was bolted on properly * forgot to bolt both bolts tightly

If I could rep you I would! Thats what i do now i guess, no point slapping so much money in an engine when the problem isnt that BIG!

Exactly, and if the car needs to be sold you might just have to tell them about the problem!
