30 is cheap mat, just buy it and spray youll have left overs for future use , eg. lips, colour coding side moulds or number plate surround etcccccccccccccccccccccc

Just go to Bunnings and buy all the different greens and see which one matches the best. The cheap ones are $4 a can, but they work..if you use plastic primer.

thats the worse thing u can do LOL.... theres a reason why car paint is expensive.... u pay for what u get for... dont cheap out on paint, or else it cheapen the car to whole another level, but than also factor in other costs such as primer, sand paper and clear coat

cmon man $30 is not much for paint @ all. youd rather do it once than cheaping out even more and making it look crap then having to pay to do it again

another classiC demonstration of the facepalms that ozhonda brings.

The closest colour to you factory colour IS THE ****ING FACTORY COLOUR!!!!!!

Youve got the colour code.

Go to a parts store, and they will have a book availiable that should list the colour code, and the part number for the matching colour in whatever brand they sell.

for a 150gram can, itll be about 15 bucks.

Dont try to match it by eye, because it will look absolutely dick, and youll have to spend even more money in the long run trying to fix it. Also dont forget to sand it and prime it etc before you paint it, so it looks right.

Ahh i guess cheap isn't going to help LOL, i'll get the mix paint from Autobarn when i get money, got nothing at the moment :(

But yeah whats better using a spray can or using a spray gun?

spray can will do fine man.

give it a pretty light sand with 1200 grit wet/dry, with a bit of water sprayed onto the surface, just to smooth it out.

then hit it with a bit of wax and grease remover to clean it up.

Put a coat of primer on it, and let it dry for 15 mins, then another coat, nice and thin, let it dry for half an hour. Give it another sand, with 2000 grit sandpaper, and hit it with more wax and grease remover.

Then with the colour, give it about 5 coats, with about 5-8 mins dry time between each coat.

Go too thick, too quick, and try and do it in one coat, and it will run, and look like shit.

Dont do proper surface prep, and itll end up bubbling, and coming off, and looking bad.

spend a day doing it, and youll be much happier with the result.

tiksie

And no, the left-over paint isn't for sale. ^_^

You just give them the paintcode and they mix it in a car for you.

You can't really buy cypress green off the shelf..

There's no other alternative that would come up with good results.. So if $30 is too much, then just wait it out a bit until you got money or just don't spray it.

That's touch up paint..

You're spraying a whole grille, not touching up a little dent/scratch.
